APGA suspends it's National Chairman and Others

All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, a political party with towering popularity in the South East, has suspended its National Chairman, Mr. Victor Oye.

The party also suspended two other national officers.

The decision to suspend the chairman was taken by the National Working Committee of the party, which met in Abuja on Thursday.

According to the party, the chairman was suspended for alleged act of gross misconduct.

Rising from its monthly meeting, the NWC, told the suspension of the national Chairman was in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution.

The Committee accused the suspended chairman and some other executive members of “immense constitutional breaches and inordinate practices’’.

The Deputy National Secretary of the party, Mr Jerry Obasi, said the suspension was necessary in order to save the party from impending destruction.

He said the decision was taken to reposition APGA and restore it to greatness, given the circumstances surrounding the party under the leadership of the suspended chairman.

Among those also suspended by the NWC include: the deputy national chairman (North), Alh. Abubakar Adamu and deputy national chairman (South), Chief Uchenna Okogbuo.

They were also indicted for several constitutional breaches.
